Three ANSTO scientists are contributing to two recently awarded Australian Research Council Discovery Project grants.

A large international research team led by Academia Sinica in Taiwan investigated how heat is transferred in an advanced thermoelectric material made with germanium (Ge) and tellurium (Te) and doped with antimony (Sb). These devices are used to power space probes such as the Mars Curiosity Rover.

ANSTO has recently concluded up a successful cross-cultural nuclear science education project between Australia and Japan.

Although Australia does not use nuclear energy for power needs, it does have the nuclear capabilities, knowledge, and expertise provided by ANSTO to ensure the national interest in nuclear matters is protected and advanced.
