As blood breaks down in the skin tissue, the colour of a bruise changes with time. As such, it may be used to find out information about the age of the bruise and hence a timeframe of when the incident that caused the mark took place.
In this workbook, students will:
- learn about radiocarbon dating and its applications to cultural heritage materials.
- analyse and interpret different texts and videos to better understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
- build literacy and numeracy capabilities using cloze passages, writing a glossary, interpreting graphs, answering comprehension questions, and making a timeline and a map to summarise the research stories.
This program uses ANSTO’s nuclear capabilities to identify, quantify, and monitor the mechanisms which cause, or influence the development and progression of chronic diseases.
ANSTO addresses key scientific questions in the nuclear fuel cycle for both the current generation of nuclear reactors and future systems.
