The Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering (ACNS) is pleased to announce the 6th Clip Day!
Clip Day 2024 is an in-person, residential, get-together / forum where Early Career Researchers (ECRs), PhD and Masters students can present 'clips' (or a snapshot) of their current and future work using overhead slides. It is also an opportunity to develop working relationships with ACNS / National Deuteration Facility (NDF) supervisors and to get to know peers and future collaborators. It will be a great place to meet old friends, make new ones and, hopefully, to have some fun!
Limited places will be offered to either:
- present a 12-minute overview of your research with 3 minutes for questions OR
- participate in a poster slam where you have 3 minutes to present one overhead slide summarising your research OR
- participate in the poster session.
Aim of Clip Day 2024
The aim of Clip Day 2024 is to provide:
- a forum for participants to interact and connect with peers, NDF and ACNS supervisors and other staff;
- participants the experience of presenting to a scientific audience from a broad range of disciplines;
- an opportunity to learn about exciting new research from the NDF and ACNS;
- facilitated discussions where valuable feedback on research can be obtained.
Prizes for best oral and poster slam presentation will be awarded.
Important Dates
Interested applicants are required to submit an Expression of Interest form by Friday 29 March 12pm (AEDT) 2024. Participants will be selected based on their responses to ensure the best fit with the course outline.

Successful Applicants
All successful applicants will be required to pay the registration fee of $250 inc GST (AUD) which includes:
- All lectures
- Accommodation for two nights at Rydges Hotel Cronulla (check in Wednesday 5th June, check out Friday 7th June)
- Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner Thursday and breakfast and lunch Friday)
- Poster session drinks
- Coach transfer from Rydges hotel to ANSTO Thursday and Friday morning
- Coach transfer from ANSTO to Rydges Thursday evening and to Sutherland train station on Friday
NOTES:
- Registration fee does not include the cost of ground travel to and from hotel
- There may be a potential contribution to airfares made available
