Think Science! 2023 Summary and Results
ANSTO Big Ideas encourages students to creatively communicate the work of an Australian scientist, and explain how their work has inspired them to come up with a Big Idea to make our world a better place. This competition is intended to engage and support Australian students in years 7-10 in Science and encourage them to pursue studies and careers in STEM.
An initiative for National Science Week 2024 the Shorebirds Competition addresses the 2024 theme for National Science Week, ‘Species Survival’ and provides unique cross-curricula learning for Australian primary students in Years 3 to 6.

From June to August we invited primary schools in Greater Sydney/Illawarra and Melbourne to participate in our 2019 Shorebirds Competition. Students in Years 3 to 6 were asked to create a public awareness poster for a threatened shorebird found in Australia.
Primary students across Australia were invited to create a public awareness poster for a threatened shorebird found in Australia for our 2020 Shorebirds Competition. In response to COVID-19, and the changes to children’s learning environments, we opened the competition early and also included categories for individual children to enter, as well as school children.
