FREE ANSTO Science Shows and VR Experience
2019 Australia Day Sutherland Shire
Get down to Blaxland Oval at Illawong this Australia Day - Saturday 26 January - and join in the fun of the ANSTO Science Shows and ANSTO VR Experience.
The live and interactive quiz-based ANSTO Science Shows, give you the opportunity to showcase your science trivia knowledge. Using your mobile device you can ask questions, make comments and have a say in live polling, with results published on the big stage screen.
In support of the Sutherland Shire's Australia Day events charity partner, Rural Aid, the quiz will feature fun facts on the science and technology behind Australia’s rural areas. Shows run for 10 minutes and will be held at 5pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm
Alternatively, visit the ANSTO stand and take a journey to the atomic scale with the ANSTO virtual reality experience. You will go inside Australia’s only reactor and watch as tiny neutrons help create nuclear medicine, irradiate silicon for industry or participate in an experiment.
